Do Christians surrender free will to follow Jesus?

I can understand how deciding to follow Jesus could look like Christians surrendering their free will; however, nothing could be further from the truth. God, in his perfection, asks us to look to him for the right answers. He knows we will always fall short; but God wants us to stand out from the imperfect world and follow him. Transforming us through our willing relationship. So, we can follow the world like the blind leading the blind, or we can choose to follow the teachings of Christ and renew the way we think; being mentored by the creator himself.

The New Living Translation version gives us a lot of clarity of Romans 12:2, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” So like a waterfall, we receive constant renewal; made powerful and constantly purified by the “living water” (John 4:14).

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is; his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Photographer’s Notes– Capturing ‘New Beginnings’

This image was taken at sunrise using a very long shutter delay, wide aperture, low ISO and a warm cup of coffee. Waterfalls are visually majestic. Fed by rivers, lakes, springs, etc. they give a sense of renewal; fresh water constantly flows downstream to enrich everything around it. Ever moving and ever changing.

Our goal is to help fellow Christians deepen their relationship with God by creating studies that go beyond written words. If a picture says a thousand words, our unique approach reaches deep into your thoughts, memories, and emotions, through visual engagement, to deepen your study and actively strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ.
